Sindhudurg’s First Interior and Fashion Design Exhibition ‘Aarambh-2025’ Receives an Overwhelming Response

Kankavli: Floret College of Designing, Kankavli, successfully organized the grand ‘Aarambh Exhibition-2025’ on January 25th and 26th. This unique event marked Sindhudurg’s first-ever Interior and Fashion Design exhibition, leaving Kankavli amazed with its innovative fusion. The exhibition was inaugurated with great enthusiasm by former municipal president Sameer Nalawade and executive engineer Ajaykumar Sarvagod . The event was graced by Sandeep Nalawade (President, Consumer Society), actor Nilesh Pawar , and Pravin Naik as the chief guests.

The exhibition revolved around the theme ” Coastal Chic ,” inspired by the serene beauty of coastal life.

Interior Design students designed the entire boutique, using self-made, innovative furniture. Their creations were crafted with a strong focus on sustainability and upcycling. The boutique featured eco-friendly materials such as bamboo, hemp, seashells, beach pebbles, and sand, which beautifully captured the essence of coastal aesthetics.

Fashion Design students designed exclusive beach-inspired garments to be displayed in the boutique. Using calming shades of blue, gray, sand, off-white, and soft green, they created a stunning collection that perfectly complemented the boutique’s ambiance. Over 65 garments were designed and handcrafted by students, covering Children’s Wear (First-Year students), Women’s Wear (Second and Third-Year students), and Men’s Wear (Third-Year students). Special care was taken to cater to different age groups and sizes, ranging from XS to XXL. Students took charge of everything—from fabric sourcing to embroidery, beadwork, and stitching. To showcase their work professionally, a photoshoot was conducted at Achara, Devgad, and Malvan beaches, and the resulting catalog was displayed at the exhibition.

This unique fusion of Interior and Fashion Design was something never seen before in Sindhudurg.

The boutique, built by Interior Design students, and the carefully curated collection of garments designed by Fashion Design students created an extraordinary synergy that mesmerized visitors.

The exhibition attracted over 500 visitors , including prominent Interior and Fashion Designers, doctors, lawyers, social workers, and parents of students.

The success of ‘Aarambh-2025’ was made possible by the dedicated efforts of Shaillesh Kadam, Sakshi Khopatkar, Arya Bidaye, Misba, Mrunali Satarkar, and Mrunali Gawade, along with the hardworking students of Floret College.
